Several poetry events in March will showcase the community’s appreciation for the literary arts.
Meredith Davies Hadaway will be reading some poems and talking with Vic Evans in an upcoming WC-ALL Learn-at-Lunch program called Community, Nature and Place: One Poet’s Touchstones on Friday, March 27th at noon in Hynson Lounge at Washington College. “I’m hoping some of you can join us in this lunchtime conversation about community and creativity as well as my favorite topic, the power of poetry,” she says. More information and registration details are on the WC-All site here: https://advancement.washcoll.edu/register/?id=aee848e7-c61e-4dc4-b4ff-431aed18e768
The Robert Earl Price Poetry Festival (formerly Kent County Poetry Festival, re-named in honor of the late, great poet who was its founder) will feature a series of poetry gatherings March 27-March 29. In addition to events with Lady Brion (Friday evening) and Jericho Brown (Saturday evening), Hadaway will be teaching an ecopoetry workshop at the Lawrence Wetlands Preserve on Saturday at 1 p.m. And of course, everybody will want to read a poem or two at the great Open Mic on Sunday at Ortiz Studio.
