The Tidewater Camera Club will welcome speaker Steve Sattler to the July 6 meeting at 7pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Easton, Md. The topic will be Three Paths to Great Travel Photography.
Visitors are welcome to join members starting at 6:15pm.
Travel photography is about much more than simply taking pictures while on vacation-it’s about preparation, flexibility, storytelling, and making the most of every opportunity. In this presentation, Steve Sattler will share practical travel photography tips that apply to all types of travel, including planning, gear selection, staying organized, and capturing meaningful images wherever you go.
The program will then exp0lore three different types of travel experiences photographers commonly encounter: planning and executing your own independent trip, participating in a workshop, and traveling on a non-photography group tour. Through images and personal experiences from each type of journey, Steve will discuss the advantages, challenges, and photographic opportunities unique to each approach. Attendees will come away with useful ideas, inspiration, and strategies to help them create stronger images on their own future adventures.
Steve Sattler has been passionate about photography since childhood and further developed his craft after purchasing his first digital camera in 2006. A self-taught photographer, he refined his skills thru extensive study, workshops, webinars, and seminars. Deeply involved in the community, Steve has served as president of two photography clubs and is the co-founder and current president of the Maryland Photography Alliance, an affiliation of 24 independent photography clubs throughout Maryland. His photography has earned numerous accolades, including Photographer of the Year and Best Images of the Year honors.
