The Queen Anne’s County League of Women Voters is holding a Forum for Candidates for the Centreville Town Council on Thursday, September 14. Two of the three candidates will be participating: Steve Kline, an incumbent seeking reelection, and Jeff Kiel, a former member of the Town Council. Ashley Kaiser, who is also an incumbent seeking re-election, is unable to participate in person or via Zoom due to a family commitment in Florida.
This pre-election forum will begin at 7 p.m. in the Planning and Zoning Room of the Vincit Bldg, 110 Vincit St. in Centreville. The forum is free and open to all. The candidates will have the opportunity to talk about their positions on Town issues and answer questions posed by the League and the audience. The Forum will be streamed on QACTV/Facebook and QAC.org/live.
The election will be held on Monday, October 2. The three candidates are vying for two seats on the Town Council. The two candidates with the most votes will win the two seats. There are five members on the Town Council in all.
The League requests that there be no campaign literature or paraphernalia inside the Planning and Zoning Room.
The League of Women Voters of Queen Anne’s County is a nonpartisan organization whose membership is open to all persons 16 years of age or older. Its mission is to encourage the informed participation of voters in the democratic process.
