The Queen Anne’s County Commissioners are actively seeking individuals to fill vacancies on several Boards and Commissions. The deadline for applications is November 13, 2023. The following boards and commissions have vacancies:

The Board of Appeals-Zoning hold public hearings on requests for variances, conditional uses and appeals relating the Queen Anne’s County Code. Meetings are held as required and normally on a Wednesday or Thursday evening.
The Economic Development Commission oversees a small fund that is used for a variety of economic development initiatives. The purpose of the commission is to develop a vibrant economy with the necessary human and business resources to provide the highest quality of life for all residents, while preserving the County’s distinctive cultural and environmental heritage. Meetings are held the 4th Wednesday of every month at 9:00 AM.
The Housing Authority provides decent, safe and affordable housing to the residents of Queen Anne’s County. The Housing Authority may acquire, own, lease and operate housing projects and provide for the construction, reconstruction, improvement, alteration or repair of any housing project; make rent subsidy payments to or on behalf of persons of eligible income, investigate into living, dwelling and housing conditions, and into the means and methods of improving such conditions, and other related tasks. Meetings are held the 2nd Monday of the month at 4:00 PM.
The Kent Narrows Development Foundation, Inc. facilitates the revitalization of the Kent Narrows, and work in cooperation with the Queen Anne’s County Commissioners and other governing bodies to establish objectives and guidelines for development and redevelopment of the Kent Narrows. Meetings are held the 4th Tuesday of the month at 9:00 AM.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board advises the Department of Parks and Recreation and the County Commissioners on all questions of general policy relating to parks and public recreation in the County. Meetings dates and times can be found on www.qac.org
The Planning Commission has the powers necessary to enable it to fulfill its functions, promote planning and execute the functions of Article 66B. The Commission makes and approves plans they recommend to the Board of County Commissioners for adoption. Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of the month at 8:45 AM.
The Plumbing Board acts as an adviser to the County Commissioners regarding the administration of the County’s plumbing code and plumbing office. It hears and attempts to resolve complaints, disputes, or questions regarding plumbing matters with property owners or their agents, licensed plumbers or the plumbing inspector. Meetings are held the 4th Thursday of the month at 9:00 AM.
