To mark the 20th anniversary of Plein Air Easton, the Academy Art Museum, along with its partner, the Avalon Foundation, made the easy decision to host a solo exhibition of Easton artist Nancy Tankersley’s work over the same number of years.
The decision was easy because of Nancy’s remarkable artistic journey and achievements during that time and as a founder of the Plein Air Easton event itself.
In her interview with the Spy, Nancy discussed that artistic growth and emphasized how the plein air painting process taught her how to express emotion and more feeling in her work. She also described the shift from mere observation in her work to incorporating a more personal expression, a transition crucial in her development as an artist.
